Welcome to Berlin Tourist Attractions, Tipps and Information
Berlin’s nightlife has always enjoyed a legendary reputation. In the countless pubs, clubs, discos and bars new trends are regularly born, which then spread across the entire country. New places are continuously opening their doors – whilst others close their doors very quickly after a brief heyday.
So that you do not lose track, we want to present to you a closer look at the hottest Berlin district and the current most popular clubs and meeting points
For several years an absolutely ‘in’ meeting point in Berlin Mitte has been the Hackeschen Höfe, which have already been described in more detail on this website. They house a number of different venues in which Berlin’s night-revellers regularly meet. However, Berlin Mitte has other things to offer, for instance the ‘Oranienburger Straße’ with its quirky shops and small but nice bars and clubs.
Particularly fashionable meeting places in Berlin Mitte are:
Kaffee Burger „Russendisco“, Torstr. 60: A colourful mix of a bar, café and dance hall
Weekend Club Berlin, Alexanderplatz 5: Hip Club with a good mix of music and numerous live events.
Clärchens Ballhaus, Auguststr. 24: Live music, concerts, dance courses and good food – here everything comes together!
Whoever likes things ‘flipped out’ but less posh will have the ideal setting in Berlin’s Friedrichshain for extended over-night trips. Here one will find the hippest clubs and trendiest bars which lure with their relatively low prices. The crowd in Firedrichshain – in comparison with other Berlin scenes is clearly younger.
The best meeting points in Friedrichshain are:
Fritzclub, Str. der Pariser Kommune 3-10: Original concert hall in the old Postbahnhof, alternates between disco and live music; has direct train connections.
Berghain Club, at the Wriezener Bahnhof: trendy disco-club, very stylish, modern music and cool people
The Prenzlauer Berg district became known due to its trendy artists who still today create a special attraction in the district. In addition over the years countless clubs, bars and pubs have been established in which today the younger, alternative-seeking crowds like to meet. In particular the Kastanianallee which is plainly considered as a place to saunter.
One should also certainly drop by the following places:
Kulturbrauerei, Schönhauser Allee 36-39: A range of different clubs under one roof – there is something here to please every taste!
Icon, Cantianstr. 15: Modern dance club in which top DJ’s from around the world regularly spin the turntables
One of the most well known districts in Berlin is Kreuzberg. Due to the large foreign population here, a multicultural scene has formed which is attractive and colourful for tourists as well as locals. This is particularly emphasised in the Oranienstraße which is always the centre of the hustle and bustle of Kreuzberg’s nightlife.
Interesting places in Kreuzberg are:
SO36, Oranienstr. 130: Super-trendy hip-hop and techno-club, directly on Heinrich Platz in Kreuzberg. One of the ‘in’ meeting points of Berlin’s club scene
Spindler & Klatt, Köpenicker Str. 16-17: Very trendy restaurant/dance club, stylish ambience, exclusive guests; place for more sophisticated evening entertainment
Schöneberg is the traditional entertainment district for the gay-lesbian scene in Berlin. Here there are fine bars and trendy clubs. Also many ‘hetero-night revellers’ can be found in Schöneberg.
The best Locations are:
Green Door, Winterfeldtstr. 50: Very stylish and popular cocktail bar perfectly suited to ‘prime’ the way for a long night of partying.
Pinguin Club, Wartburgstr. 54: Trendy Bar, which for over 20 years has been an indispensable part of the Berlin scene.
Hafen, Motzstr. 19: THE bar of the gay and lesbian scene in Berlin. Whoever wishes to quickly make contact – not only with the same sex, is in the right place!
However it is not only in the areas described here that ‘bear goes wild’ in Berlin. There are numerous other places scattered all over Berlin which offer night revellers a worthwhile destination. These are for example:
Diskothek Q-Dorf: One of the hottest clubs which currently offers the biggest party in the capital; can be found in the Joachimstaler Straße in Charlottenburg.
Matrix Club und Event GmbH: Mega-Disco with seven floors on which almost all styles of music you wish for are played. This is where young Berliners meet to dance.
Insomnia Erotic Nightclub: If you like something a little more ‘sinful’ and want to visit a real nightclube, then Insomnia is the right place for you; can be found in Tempelhof, Alt Tempelhof 17-19.
